Wow, I am really behind on my blogging! It's not for my lack of having anything to say or share; I've just been busy! I thought I would do a quick post of where I am at in my Asian-drama-filled world so many apologies for being absent. I'll try and do better!
I am currently watching The Woman Who Still Wants To Marry (Kim Beom, Park Jin Hee), a light-hearted romantic comedy (I believe it's slated for 16 episodes). I'm loving the theme of this drama, such a departure from some of the others I've been watching. Older woman (in this case, 34-years of age) and her same aged girlfriends go through the trials and tribulations of love and heartache and not being able to find that special someone to spend the rest of their lives with. All are successful career women in their own right (news reporter, interpreter and restaurant consultant) and at the age of 34, are being looked down upon because of their inability to settle down and marry. Such is the tragedy of the Korean culture when it comes to marriage and family. Park Jin Hee's character, Shin Young, falls unexpectedly for the young Min Jae (10 years younger), a 24-year old musician/college student. I love how the writers of this drama explore every nuance, every emotion that could be relatable to those of us in the real world if this were to happen (and what "older" woman who was in pursuit of love, wouldn't go through what Shin Young is going through as her mind and heart wrestle with, "what to do"???).
I'm at the tail end of Episode 5 and wouldn't you know it, the best part of this episode and the last link refused to work! I had to find out what happened so I read the episode synopsis on one of my favorite K-drama sites just to put me out of my misery. The drama is currently airing (I believe in real-time, the drama is up to Episode 12) but I hesitate to move on and just read the synopsis because I actually want to WATCH the drama unfold. Aishhh! Please, please, please to the sites who are hosting these dramas online to please fix your links!
Until next drama...
