I love food and drink. Who doesn't? Food is the necessity of life. Without it, we cease to exist. I love to eat out, socialize with friends over drinks or a meal and entertain at home for family and friends. Before Facebook existed, I've always taken photos of food, especially during family get togethers and events and only shared them with the family. I'm often teased for doing so but I don't care. Food is art and pleasure. And I want to create a visual memory of the many dishes that I've had the pleasure to experience and enjoy, whether prepared by my hand or others.
I joined Facebook over a year ago. Many of my photo posts are those of food (no big surprise here). Instead of sharing it with family and a few friends, I've now opened up my food experience with my extended family and friends on Facebook. I was also happy to see that I wasn't the only one who also posted pictures of food. Because I an above-average cook, I am familiar with many cooking terms, exotic ingredients, have subscribed to Bon Appetit and Gourmet magazines and am a fan of the Food Network!
Many people have told me that I should start a food blog. I never really thought of documenting my experiences in writing. But the more I thought about it, the more appealing it seemed. I wouldn't have to post every day; only if my culinary experience for that event or occasion was meaningful and worth sharing. So, here I am. By the way, unless otherwise specified, all photos are taken by me. I apologize in advance for the "grainier" photos. I don't always take my Nikon camera with me when dining out and will use my iPhone as a back-up camera.
I hope you enjoy my experiences and thank you for visiting. If you decide to check out any of the restaurants and eateries mentioned in my blog, please let me know by dropping me a line. Or, if you have a favorite you'd like to share, I'd love to hear about it and perhaps experience it (depending on what it is, of course! LOL!). Bon appetit!
